Music Minister: Mr. Michael Crouch
Michael Crouch will celebrate his 44th anniversary as a church organist in November 2007. His position as church organist at All Saints not only returns him to the Episcopal Church, but to an All Saints Episcopal Church. The first church at which he was an organist 44 years ago was All Saints Episcopal Church in South Charleston, West Virginia.

Michael was born in Ashland, Kentucky (yes, some of us do wear shoes) and grew up in both Kentucky and West Virginia. He returned to Kentucky to attend Morehead State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Music Education, specializing in organ performance. While at Morehead State University, Michael sang in the University Choir with Bill Henson, a current member of the All Saints choir. He also served as a church organist while at college.

Upon graduation, Michael moved to Northern Kentucky where he taught music in the Campbell County School System until retirement in 1999. Michael's experience included elementary school, middle school, and high school. During his years as high school choral director, Michael had many members of his choruses selected to participate in the All State Choral Programs. He obtained his Master's Degree in Music and Secondary Education from Northern Kentucky University and the College Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati, Ohio. During his teaching career, Michael served as a church organist for United Church of Christ and Presbyterian congregations in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. Upon retirement, Michael moved to East Lansing and accepted the position of church organist at Edgewood United Church of Christ.

Michael has a 29 year old daughter, Cate, who is a designer for Crate and Barrel in Cleveland, Ohio. In his spare time, if and when he has any, Michael likes to spend his time antiquing, attending symphony and opera performances, and traveling. As part of his continuing commitment to the organ and to church music, Michael is Dean of the local chapter of the American Guild of Organists and serves as a board member.
